Hey crafters,
This one is hard to admit, but here goes. A couple years ago, we bought a new car. It had the new car smell, I'm sure you know it. The smell that makes you feel like anything is possible, as long as you're driving this new car.
I diligently prohibited my kids to eat or drink anything in the car to keep this new car smell for as long as I could. The dog wasn't allowed to ride on the passenger seat, for fear it would dirty the fabric and we'd be stuck with the dreaded wet dog smell.
All was fine, up until just a few months ago, when the rules got relaxed...
And as with all things new, eventually the new car smell vanished and now we're stuck with... this dreadful smell.
Did my kids drop pieces of chicken nuggets between the seats? Did I leave cookie crumbs in the cracks? Did I end up spilling too much coffee while hitting a road bump?
Who knows.
But lately, my kids (and myself) began complaining about the dreadful car smell. And yes, of course, it's the end of winter and while I tidied up the car, I haven't done a real "spring cleaning" session on it yet. But still. It stinks.
So when I hopped in the car in a rush to pick my daughter up from school today, the smell hit me again. And that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I needed to do something about it TODAY.
Forget about panic-ordering stuff on Amazon and having to wait 2+ days to get it. I wasn't going to suffer any longer. Living in the woods, there was only one solution to get this problem fixed right away.
Pull from what's already in my house.
I grabbed disinfecting wipes, cleaning spray, the neutralizing odor spray for carpets and decided I needed to get going. I wiped everything I could. The dashboard, the side doors, the console, everything.
But what was missing was this: what nice smell could I use to get rid of the stench? to reset the smell in the car?
I thought about it for a while, and then it hit me. I already had everything I needed to get rid of the stench, and to make sure my car would smell nice again. And no, I'm not talking about stopping by the dollar store to grab those smelly car scents that come in the shape of a tree and makes everyone retch. I'm talking about a real, great-smelling solution that I could get for cheap.
Of course it's easy for me to say because I sell the bundle, so I already had it readily available in my house. But I found that the cedar balls and the lavender sachets would make the perfect solution to my car scent nightmare. Plus I could stash the lavender sachets in the notions pouch it comes in, dropping a pouch in the side doors so it looks tidy and avoid finding lavender sachets everywhere.
It was time for me to test the smell saving abilities of my product in a more... ahem... challenging environment than a bin of delightfully smelling yarns.
Here's what I did. I pulled a few extras I had -- I guess that's the perk of running this store -- and decided to test my product. I rounded a few sachets and notions pouches and put them in my car (after doing a deep cleaning, for sure).
And let me tell you... They're a lifesaver!!! OMG I can't believe I didn't think about it earlier. I am literally kicking myself for not thinking about the stash saver bundle to also save my car smell. And if my daughter knew I had the solution readily available in the house and didn't do anything earlier, she'd probably kick me too!
So here you go. You can use the Stash Saver Bundle to keep bugs away from your stash. Or... you can use it to save your car, house, room, furniture, etc. from any undesirable smell.
Now my car smells of cedar and lavender, which also contributes to keeping me calmer and less stressed on the road. It also helps with keeping road rage at bay (that's a joke; I haven't had road rage since I moved to the mountains. Here's another solution for you).
So if your car needs a better-smelling solution, know that you can always use lavender sachets and cedar balls -- whether they come from my Stash Saver Bundle or not!
