Spring Is In the Air!

Hey friends,

Spring is knocking at our door, and if you're anything like me, this means you are ready to start wearing your lighter knits and plan your summer projects. There's something in the air, letting us know that bright and warm days are coming, and I don't know if it has anything to do with the chaos that's going on in the world, but this year I feel much more eager to embrace it! That being said, with warmer weather, comes a whole new generation of insects and critters.

At the beginning on this year, I made a point of cleaning and cataloging my stash all over again, simply because I wanted to know exactly what I had on hand, and what I could plan to use. It's always a good idea to inspect your stash once in a while to make sure your yarn is safe and pretty, and cataloging my whole stash became an excuse to gawk at my precious yarns all over again.

I meticulously went through my stash, making sure there were no insects or critters that had found it. Imagine the horror if I opened one of my yarn bins to discover it had been munched over by moths! That's definitely not a scenario I'd wish on anyone.

Over the years I've taken measures to ensure it wouldn't happen to me, such as storing my yarn in plastic bins (not fabric totes that can be destroyed by insects), in sealable plastic bags. Then, I proceeded to add cedar blocks and lavender sachets to each bin. All together, these easy steps have kept the bugs away from my precious yarn stash.

Cedar blocks have become quite expensive over time, and it's been harder and harder to stock up on them. So here's what I did: I bulk-ordered a whole lot of it, more than I truly needed, and got a discount! And because I like you guys, I've bundled them up with lavender sachets and a few cute notions just for you to enjoy as well.
