There’s something magical about those quiet moments when you finally plop onto the couch, turn on your favorite show, and pull out your latest work in progress. Honestly, crafting on the couch is one of my favorite ways to wind down. It’s cozy, it’s soothing, and it feels like the perfect little escape after a hard day of work, house chores, and caring for everybody in my family. Plus, since I'm actually crafting in front of the TV, sitting in front of the big screen doesn't feel like a total waste of my time because I get something out of it. Win-Win!
If you’re ready to build your own curl-up-and-craft setup, here are all my must-haves. The items I reach for every single time I get some free time to myself (which, I do have to admit, doesn't happen often enough, but hey, my son's soccer season just ended, so the future looks bright).

A Knitting or Crochet Project (Obviously!)
You can’t settle in for a cozy TV session without something fun to work on. Whether you’re deep into sweaters or find yourself looking for something brand-new to cast on, I’ve got you covered. Looking for a new project? Check out my patterns right here. There’s truly nothing like pairing a good show with a good knit.
My Favorite Notions
These little things make all the difference in my knitting life.
Stitch-Keeping Cord + Stopper Kit

I've said it before, and I'm saying it again. My favorite notion of ALL TIME. No exaggeration. To me, these rival the discovery of stitch markers and circular needles. I. Kid. You. Not. This little kit has completely changed the way I knit. Slide stitches on, hold them secure, use these for a provisional cast on, and get on with your project without wrestling with your stitches or looking for waste yarn. Game. Changer.
Prince Wart Crystal Stitch Markers + Progress Keeper
I love these! The Austrian crystal beads feel fancy and fun, and the progress keeper is ridiculously cute. They add a little sparkle to every project. Check out my other listings of stitch markers or progress keepers.
Rainbow Stars Stitch Markers

These are bright, lightweight, and come in both small ring (up to US size 9 / 5.5mm) and large ring (up to size US 17 / 12mm) options. If you’re working with bulky yarn and big needles, the large rings are perfection! It is so hard to find quality stitch markers that fit larger needles! And honestly, these stars just make me smile :)
Gold Rush Embroidery Scissors

These small but mighty scissors are awesome. Small enough to put into any project bag, but sharp enough to snip through anything I need. Plus, that gold finish adds a little glam to your project bag.
A Project Bag
The best way to stay organized. A good project bag keeps everything tidy and ready to go when you’re heading to the couch, or anywhere else, for that matter. No digging. No losing your notions between cushions. Just grab and go.
A Warm Beverage

We’re setting a mood here, right? I’m partial to tea or hot chocolate, but you do you. Whatever warms your hands also warms the moment. My favorite these days? Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate.
A Snack (or two)
Because crafting is hungry work, obviously. MY favorites: chocolate, popcorn, or nuts. Check out this new chocolate sampler pack that I've just added to the shop. It’s fun, delicious, and perfect for nibbling between rows.
Make This Cozy Season Your Best Yet
Crafting in front of the TV can be a great experience that combines a favorite craft with the feeling of cozying up on the couch. With the right tools, the right project, a warm drink, and a few delicious treats, you can turn everyday moments into tiny moments of joy.
So grab your yarn, brew something warm, and treat yourself to a setup that makes your cozy season feel extra special. You deserve it.
Craft on, my friends!
